Police Stations (light blue on the map) are a reasonable place to look for weapons, as long as they haven't been looted by other players. I felt like a kid in a candy store then: loads of loot in the gun room, medical area, offices, and crates scattered throughout the bunker. After luring in and killing a few nearby zeds, I managed to sneak up, open the hatch to the bunker, and sneak inside (the 'Mech shot me as soon as I entered, but I survived). Stealth is your friend – get low, stay hidden, and try to spot the bunker entrance from behind the fence (big hint: a 'Mech usually stomps like a triangle patrol).
There are also many zombie soldiers in the bunkers, some of whom are wearing military gear, including helmets, and can be a bit more difficult to deal with than the normal zombies in town. The underground bunkers (marked with yellow dots on the map) are a great place to loot - the one I visited had several basement levels filled with weapons, ammo, bulletproof vests, tactical clothing and even supplies, which came in handy after feed on zombie meat and mushrooms on the way to the bunker.īut you can't just walk in! Bunkers are usually guarded by two swords, large stomping robots that warn you on sight and open fire about two seconds later.
